The Amateur Paleontologist

Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on my specimen cards for my MKFE Nº2. Could you tell me if there's any point that's missing?

Collection date: ____________________________________________

Collection site: _____________________________________________

Collection method(s):  _______________________________________

Preparation method(s): ______________________________________

Worth donation:       YES                NO                  MAYBE

Worth Danekræ:      YES                NO                  MAYBE

Supplementary notes: _______________________________________

 _____________________________________________________________________________________

 _____________________________________________________________________________________

If you're puzzled by the term "danekræ" above, it's just a word that is used to represent objects of natural history that are of national importance to Danemark and belong to the State.

Thanks for the help :)

Christian

Thanks :) Yeah, maybe sister taxa and synonyms? I'd have to dig a bit through the papers for that info - which I don't mind

@DPS Ammonite thanks for the information :)

MKFE stands for Møns Klint Fossil Excavation.. You can find more about it in the first post of this thread

For many of my fossils I would say that I identified them using XYZ papers/books. @Fossildude19 (A good feature to add to collections.)

Thanks for the idea, John.  I like it. :dinothumb:

For the time being, I would add that information to the  Extra info area.  :)

I always record the GPS coordinates of my finds, although they are not something I typically share with others.   One set of coordinates that can get me back to a dig site is usually enough, although if it is a large site I might record more than one set.
