Your best guess at these please!

we found these plant stem looking fossils at the beach in sydney australia. any idea as to their age and plant type would be really cool and the kids would love it! thanks Ben

They look like some sort of horsetail plant .

Depending on age, they could be either Calamites sp. or Equisitites sp

 

According to this geological map, the area around Sydney is comprised of mostly Early to Middle Triassic strata. 

That would make the age between 250 and 230 million years of age.

Subsequently, the plants would be some genus/specie of Equisitales.

 

Possibly Neocalamites sp.?
