I wanted to share some of my projects with all of you. A hobby and side business of mine is creating dinosaur sculptures. I do all different kinds of things aside from dinos too, but to keep it relevant, we’ll stick to the mesozoic :dinothumb:

Featured in my profile picture is my raptor created from scrap metal used to construct railings. I named him Bambi (ironically not a Bambiraptor).  Probably more like Deinonychus, he’s a pretty big chicken, but you let me know what you think. As of now he’s my favorite creation, hence why he’s featured in my profile pic. Still trying to figure out the paint job. I wish he’d stop scaring all the birds and deer away...:hearty-laugh:

How do I go about doing these?

I try to puzzle out scrap metal pieces together to get and idea of a design and go from there. Most of the time I go by memory. However, sometimes I do sketch out ideas/concept designs. The thing is I don’t like sitting there staring at the pic back and forth while I work because it’s a little inconvenient for me. . I draw things out a few times to get a feel of what parts I need to create the dinosaur.  So for example if I need to create Dilophosaurus’ skull,  after three sketches I know exactly what pieces I need to shape it.FB25D0EF-C8B6-4F42-8768-E09D95FE4354.thumb.jpeg.3c92c06146cf6a3f4f15bdb590454742.jpegDB6EC187-B678-4033-B067-EA041C1F866F.thumb.jpeg.4c9b9d50205e772cb22b4516afccdc18.jpeg

One of my current projects is this Brachiosaurus. Not much now, but I have a lot of work still left to do to him :dinothumb:

Neat art.

I like the rusted look of the first piece (in the snow).

Thank you...I was thinking the same..I’m most likely going to change it back to that rusted look, looks more natural.

Great art work I would love one in my garden. I also like the rusty look to the one. Keep it up,  Bobby

Ourstanding dino yard art, love those skeletons, glad you left off the feathers :D   Very talented and creative. :dinothumb:

Perfect addition to any dino crazy collector.  My enthusiasm led to my wife into buying me this critter.
