What they said. It is some kind of stauriid; probably a zaphrentid. Need to see the septa for a classification

What formation are these from? Mississippian or Pennsylvanian??

If these Horn Corals are from the Mississippian or Lower Pennsylvanian it is most likely a Neozaphrentis but as Solius mentioned the septa will tell what genus it is. They look very similar to the Neozaphrentis I find in the U. Mississippian.

How do you tell if it's from Mississippian or Pennsylvanian? It was found in Illinois if that helps, and I believe that the area in which was found is Upper Ordovician? Thanks for the help.
