My brother and I decided to do fossil hunting trip in Southeast Minnesota so we pay a visit to Beverly to get a copy of map for 5 dollars.  We first hit Masonic park then few more sites before we call it a day.  Our goal is to find a trilobite but it is not end of the world if we can't find one.  Here's the pics of fossils.  Any ID will be helpful. Pic #1 and 2

What is it?IMG_1141.JPG

A partial Gastropod. The first one is a huge orthoconic nautiloid. On the one that @Peat Burns IDed, in MD we find worn tenticulitids that look like that. Might just be coincidence.

Happy hunting,

Mason

Nice meeting you guys! These are Ordovician and Galena Formation from SE MN.

First is a very nice cephalopod.  It really helps if you label them #1, #2 etc. I saw gastropods and a crinoid just scrolling through and some very nice hash plates with lots going on.  :-)

  • I found this Informative 1

The more I learn, I realize the less I know.
