Devonian Outing Last Week (Photo intensive)

Here are a couple of my finds from that outing- the one above is an Eldredgeops trilobite from Briggs Road. It is folded over, the first complete trilobite I ever found at Briggs Road. The other side which shows the thorax and pygidium is unfortunately badly weathered. The one below is a small piece of matrix with a cluster of gastropods that includes three different species- Glyptomaria capillaria, Palaeozygopleura hamiltoniae, and in the upper right hand corner the partial imprint of Retispira leda. In addition, there are imprints of brachiopods and a Greenops trilobite pygidium. Quite the little piece!

Very nice fossils :) Congrats on finding them.. - I absolutely love the phyllocarids and the cephalopods

Opalised fossils are the best: a wonderful mix between paleontology and mineralogy!

Q. Where do dinosaurs study?

A. At Khaan Academy!...

excelent finds :) most of that fauna can't be found in the devonian outcorps in my area, especialy the arthropods.

Congrats on your beautiful fieldtrip.

the last picture also looks like a goniatite to me, but no idea on the species.

growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
