Weathered out of the limestone cliffs at Torquay in Victoria. Not sure what it is ?? Does anyone have an idea ?

What is the size of this item? Those of us outside of Australia have no idea of the size of the coin you are using for scale.

Size is about 20cm long 

the surrounding rock is sandstone, the rock of the long objects is solid

The key would be the way there seems to be a gradient between the features in the piece. I think the "long object" is a more pure carbonate within sandy limestone.

Yes I agree the long objects (there are in fact 2) are definitely not the sandstone which encases them. I think it looks like bone but I really have no idea
