Mosasaur Tooth

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I recently picked up a mosasaur tooth, relatively large (2 inches) at a local rock and minerals store. It was for a great price, but from my standpoint it seems too good to be true. Some help here would be much appreciated :)

Looks like the real deal ... without a root they are very common. Without the root and composited in a creative and aesthetically pleasing geometric improbability ?  Priceless ... (or rather fairly affordable, call now !)

Haha gotcha. Looks like I’ve got myself a wonderful steal. Thanks for the info, now all I want to know is if the size is big enough. I think 2 inches is relatively big for a mosasaur tooth, but I could be wrong

I have seen some go over 3 inches. But a 2 inch one in that state(no repairs, not glued back...) is a really nice tooth and a really good size:).

Life started in the ocean. And so did my interest in fossils;).

It's very real! 2 inches is a more than respectable size for the crown.

Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!

Moroccan mosasaur tooth crowns are very rarely faked as they are so common.
