visedhercules98
I think this is plagiostoma a marine bivalve from the mid-cretaceous but I'm not 100 percent sure. it has a width of 4.5 inches and has multiple hidden arch lines that have been removed from abuse taken from the natural environment. caldigger
Can you take a shot with a ruler next to it to show size? Location found helps out as well.

Miocene_Mason
Bivalve steinkern, not sure much more can be deduced without a locale. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
Auspex
If you have time to burn, and want to tackle this challenge, shave some of the infilling martix and prepare some slides. There is likely to be microfossils that can date it, and maybe identify the formation. Do you have reason to think it is from the Mid-Cretaceous? visedhercules98
My professor said some of the fossils are local possibly this was found we live about 2 hours away from the coast and that is that specific clam was found and it reserved bled a lot of the pictures of that group which lived during that time period it's just a guess I wasn't positive. but its the best i came up with location wise
