Eastonian
Two weeks ago, I visited the Carmeuse Calcite Quarry in Rogers City, Michigan (Devonian). I spent an hour trying to dig under and around this specimen. With the help of another, I was able to dislodge it. It weights about 60 pounds and the top surface measures 38 cm x 43 cm. Looks like a Hexagonaria pericarinita, though am not sure.
Peat Burns
Nice Hexagonaria! That's "farm fresh" and how they start out before glaciers and water turn them into "Petosky stones"
Nimravis
Wow that is a great piece and worth the work.
Castle Rock
Nice specimen! I would wonder what it might look like after a little media blasting (soda perhaps). Dave

Eastonian
Sorry. I don't know what media blasting is. Isn't that what our president does? (ha ha) All I've done is use a thick paint brush with short bristles, and scrub it using nothing more than a mild household liquid detergent. minnbuckeye
Beautiful coral! Is that a quarry that lets the public visit?
