First Trilobite, Sort Of

When I got home from work today, my 4 year old grandson, who is staying with us until Friday, ran up to me and said he found a trilobite at the park today. So off in the car we went to see his discovery and low and behold, he found a trilobite, though not real. Hopefully he will enjoy fossils like me, but right now he is into his drums and electric guitar.

Atleast he was excited enough to tell you about it! That's a step in the right direction! :dinothumb:

I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

What a great way for a park to spark kids' curiosity! Catch 'em early...

He's a cute one, and looks excited. Hopefully, he'll keep being curious and observant.

Today, fake trilo. Tomorrow, real holotypes. Well, perhaps that’s a little too far to deduce right now, but I’m glad he’s excited!

Happy hunting,

Looks to be from the upper concreta... so maybe not that old.  But a really good eye.

A couple boulders over there was a nice ammonite.

And he knew it was a trilobite, too.  That’s pretty good for a 4-year old!

Well he calls it a Tri-bite, but I think that is still pretty good.

This piece is also at the park and represents plants, vertebrates,  and invertebrates.
