chloedieds
Hey, all! I’m planning a trip to England’s Jurassic Coast next summer. I’ve researched areas like Dorset, Charmouth, and Lyme Regis. I plan to hit all these in my time there. Any other recommendations or information I should know? I’m excited to explore the area and collect some new fossils! FossilsAnonymous
Ok in Lyme Regis at this time of year it will be hard to find a spot without anyone hacking away like bulls in a China shop but later on in the year it is a better spot. The Amateur Paleontologist
This is the best book you could get on the subject; it contains information about all the different groups of fossils that can be found in your target area https://www.palass.org/publications/field-guides-fossils/13/no-13-fossils-lower-lias-dorset-coast Opalised fossils are the best: a wonderful mix between paleontology and mineralogy!
