Looks like it. The end grain is very distinctive on ivory...can't see it. :)

It's a very fine criss-cross pattern on the end. I'll see if I can get a pic.

That's what you want to see! You now own a fragment of Columbian mammoth tusk (this is the most likely candidate for the formation and location it came from).

I need to remember with bone/tusk ID's the end is muy importante! :)

Of course the END is most important.It's what you END up with :)

It's a really cool find, but I did not find it. (don't want to misrepresent) I just wanted to know more about it.

Steve71 found it, and gave it to me. He gave me some really cool stuff, and showed me around to a couple of spots. (good host) I really want to explore the coastal area more. Hopefully I can go find a whole one myself! :)
