awolfe
Found this bone on the Chesapeake today. Perhaps a shoulder bone? Not sure of what it's from or what it is. Part of it has a smooth, indented shape, like a socket joint. Thank you for any assistance!
Auspex
I hate to say it, but it reminds me of a pork chop bone. Does the flat surface look sawn? 1 "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! awolfe
the ends don't appear to be sawn. I have a couple of fossilized vertebrae, but haven't seen anything like this before. I've been finding some larger pieces lately, perhaps due to the rains and storms.
