Texas NSR Small tooth? In bone? ID?

 I found this small piece of bone, it appears, with a small tooth protruding from the side.  This was found in the North Sulphur River in Ladonia Texas. Any ideas of what this might be? Thank you so much and advance.

I think this is a case of the 'tooth' being a permanent part or projection of the jawbone.  I don't recall the creature's name though.

It's a lateral Enchodus jaw section with a tooth.
