New fossil from Turkey Isparta

Hello fossil paleo geeks

This is a photo of a fossil, the guy asked me what this is, and he said he got the fossil from turkey isparta, first looking at, i thought it s a specimen from a tree, but it looks also like Pelecypods

im not sure what that is

Looks like mineral staining, to me. :unsure:

It looks geological/mineral to me rather than fossil. The mineral habit looks dendritic. Specifically the part that’s going up the side with fine little veins.

I agree with dendritic crystal growth on a conchoidal fracture surface. Mineral is most likely manganese.

Only dendrites?! Only dendrites!!?! NO NO NO...

Dendrites are a unique mineral crystallization and can have very beautiful presentation. Thay can make a plain fossil into a unique display piece.  They are even found in agates which are used as gemstones.
