How much of the Niobrara formation is this state park going to take up?

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

It will take up only a tiny fraction of the total amount of exposed chalk.  When they say it is one of the largest exposures, I think they are referring to a continuous exposure.  Little Jerusalem is a beautiful place with lots of high cliffs.

Do you know who owns the rest of the chalk in that area?

Opalised fossils are the best: a wonderful mix between paleontology and mineralogy!

Q. Where do dinosaurs study?

A. At Khaan Academy!...

99.9% of the chalk outcrops are on private ranchers’ property.

I'm aware of that :) - what I meant to ask is whether someone here knew (personally) which rancher owns specifically the chalk outcrops near Little Jerusalem..
