Thecosmilia Trichitoma
I found this fossil in Gerstetten, Germany. It is late Jurassic, 145 million years old and was found in limestone. Does anybody know what it is? Macrophyseter
I may be wrong, but the matrix looks like a rock with a lot of feldspar, so I doubt it could be a fossil. Otherwise, I think the part of interest could be a tiny concretion. If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM! Ludwigia
Sorry, but your photos are not sharp enough to make out much detail. All I know is that siliified fossils can be found at Gerstetten, but I can't tell if this is a shell or a pebble. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Thecosmilia Trichitoma
The outside of rock is a hard . The inside is softer "normal" limestone. Ludwigia
I'm just guessing that it may be a terebratulid brachiopod. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
