FOSSIL ID Kem Kem Beds

I was given this by my father as a gift. All he knows, is  is it is from the Kem Kem Beds. It looks like it may be a jaw bone on some kind  as it has indentations for what looks like teeth? But I can't decide on if it's from a fish, turtle, crocodile, dinosaur or reptile or if it's just a fragmentary piece of bone.

I would appreciate it if anyone can shed any light on this! Huge thanks in advance .

First thought jumped to scapula however after seeing the markings on the other side I'm going to lean towards fish.

Thanks Matt

It is a very "scaly" bone, and this texture is very reminiscent of fish bones. Probably this is a cranial bone.

A good candidate is the Coelacanth, or perhaps, the Neoceratodus africanus. But in Kem Kem's beds there are several other species of fish. So you have a long way to compare the cranial anatomy of each particular species.

Beautiful fossil! :dinothumb:

Is It real, or it's not real, that's the question!
