Bobby Rico
I think you need bigger pictures, to small and blurry. Sorry
Haravex
Are you sure that's a tooth? Also we need the location the specimen in question was found to help with any form of identification that's if it is a fossil and also what bobby said higher resolution pictures will more than likely be required. Thanks Matt
clactonbloke
The tooth was found down the Naze and it is tiny. I used the macro setting on my camera to take as close picture as I could. I know it is not a baracuda, or at least I dont think it is as it is too flat. Bobby Rico
Hi can’t you get a closer picture . I am with Haravex I don’t think that is a tooth, sorry. I think it is a water worn pebble in the shape of a tooth .

clactonbloke
That is the best photo I can take. I been collecting teeth for years. I know it is a tooth, just not sure what sort. This is it next to a barracuda tooth just to show how small it is.

Can you get your hands on a camera or even a scanner because the details you see with your eyes are not showing up in theses photos. If your using a phone or tablet you can buy for very little money a clip on macro lens . They are fantastic the details here you can’t see with the naked eye. Taken with an IPhone All the best Bobby
clactonbloke
I took it with a high end Nikon compact camera in a light box. Not going to get a better photo than that. Think I need a microscope to be honest. The tooth is only 6mm in size. This is as close to it as i can get without actually touching it with the camera. MarcoSr
Definitely looks like a fish tooth. I have thousands of Scomberomorus bleekeri fish teeth from the Eocene of Virginia, US that look very similar. Marco Sr. "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day." No disrespect intended to the OP (just trying to educate myself a little here) but I always thought barracuda teeth were flat -- flatter even than either of the specimens in the pics. In fact the flatness (really a slightly convex surface on both sides) has been what I've been looking for when identifying barracuda teeth. Someone please set me straight! Paleoc
Assuming it is Palaeocene or Eocene, I would go with Cybium as well.
