Welcome to the Forum. Depends on where it was found, and how long it had been submerged for. How would you differentiate fresh water from marine sand particles? Where was this found? Have you done the burn test? Hold a flame to part of the bone. If it smells like burnt hair, and does burn it is modern. If it doesn't burn, it is a fossil.
