goatinformationist
This river was just as prolific in '67. Don't know why I quit diving it.

The river produced for me in '82, but I know why I stopped diving there: It was the hairiest blackwater diving I ever experienced. We dived the river, not the bay. Put in at the Rayonier (?) ramp well below US17. The current on a falling tide was enough to drag two heavily-weighted divers and two 15-lb fluked anchors non-stop. NO visibility -- strictly hunting by feel while being dragged along a cut bank of gelatinous muck of the salt marsh. Did it a couple of times. Found big megs and other things, but risk/benefit analysis dictated moving on to other rivers. 6 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
