Bison or Cow Bones?

Recommended Posts

Could anyone help me identify the type of bones we found today in the Post Oak Creek? These two bones weren't found together.  Thank you for any help.

I think Fruitbat is missing. We have not heard from him. I have texted him twice, but he didn’t respond like he has always done before. His health was not ideal. I hope we haven’t lost him or that he is seriously ill.

The first appears to be a horse astragalus.  The second appears to be a bovid metapodial -- a cannon bone.

Thank you so much.  These pictures are very helpful.  I think the colors on the horse bone are kind of neat.  Maybe I'll keep that one.
