ZinaBeth
Hello all, I found my deer hunting spot is full of fossils, any ideas how old or what this is? It feels like petrified wood by weight. It was in a pocket of coral type fossils I will add them to another post. It was found in Cheboygan Michigan.
ynot
Welcome to TFF! This is a chert nodule, not a fossil. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.
Macrophyseter
Welcome to the forum from California I agree with ynot. If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

abyssunder
I agree with the others, especially if I'm thinking of tripolitic chert.
