Ok, last one I promise. I have found a few pieces of these fossil bone fragments with an odd type of material attached to them. Rather odd texture, sort of bumpy. My first thought was some type of skin or hoof. I am puzzled. Any ideas?

Found in Post oak creek, Grayson Co. Texas

Lower Austin, upper Eagle Ford Gulf series.

The whitish areas of Your rocks is a mineral growth (likely calcite), not a fossil.

Not sure the darker areas are bone.

I think they are pieces of gomphothere or mastodon tooth enamel.
