galaxy777
Ok, last one I promise. I have found a few pieces of these fossil bone fragments with an odd type of material attached to them. Rather odd texture, sort of bumpy. My first thought was some type of skin or hoof. I am puzzled. Any ideas? Found in Post oak creek, Grayson Co. Texas Lower Austin, upper Eagle Ford Gulf series. ynot
The whitish areas of Your rocks is a mineral growth (likely calcite), not a fossil. Not sure the darker areas are bone. Al Dente
I think they are pieces of gomphothere or mastodon tooth enamel.

The others are probably right with gomph or mastodon then. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough."
