Bobby Rico
I don’t really want to bring anymore attention to the early opening of a gift ( great gifts btw) but is that a loaf of bread been use as a photo cube? That is my first time seeing a loaf ( or photo bread) been used for size comparison. When I open mine gift I am going to use a cheese broad (photo cheddar ,say cheese ) . This when photographed will accompany Mike’s photo nicely I also really like David’s idea to show some Christmas decorations to bring this thread a bit extra Christmas cheer.

caldigger
Nice pics there David. My father got into collecting glass ornaments back in the 70's. It was more of an obsession really! He enjoyed the vintage reproductions of antique German handblown glass ornaments. And collected them everywhere he went, spending countless hours in Christmas shops and novelty stores just to walk out proudly with one ornament in hand. Unfortunately, for the rest of the family, all the familiar trinkets and hand made pieces we made as kids went to the wayside so HIS tree could look pure and pristine with the new acquisitions. You may inherit your passion for collecting objects/fossils from him but it is a sad story in a way. Maybe christmas is that kind of thing where nostalgia, sadness and happiness blend together. I have both of those on dvd. I’m a big Jimmy Stewart fan. Another favorite, albeit tacky Christmas movie of mine is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. I think it’s probably one of the funniest movies ever made.

Wrangellian
I got a kick out of it, esp. as a kid in the '80s! (so now there's that bit of nostalgia added in there, too)
