Ptychodus04
It thought I’d put up a few pics of @Jeffrey P‘s Huntoniatonia not featured in his awesome field trip report. He left it with me (along with a challenging crinoid slab) when we met up last month. Here’s what it looked like upon receipt. Here’s where it currently stands after only 1 hour of scribe work. It probably has 90 minutes worth of work left on it. 3 Regards, Kris Global Paleo Services, LLC https://globalpaleoservices.com http://instagram.com/globalpaleoservices http://instagram.com/kris.howe

Ptychodus04
Thanks all. It is nice to work in something different for a change. Jeffrey P
Great job so far. That trilobite is even more beautiful than I imagined. Hopefully the rest of the prep goes well. Thanks and best of luck.
Ptychodus04
And, after a measly 3 hours, this little bug is 99% done. I need to remove a few bits of extra sticky matrix. The only complaint is that the left genal spine is displaced. Really? That’s some nit picking. Oh, and also, my prep bench is a total disaster. But that doesn’t have anything to do with the trilobite. 2 Regards, Kris Global Paleo Services, LLC https://globalpaleoservices.com http://instagram.com/globalpaleoservices http://instagram.com/kris.howe

ynot
It looks very nice, as all the fossils that cross Your bench. At least the ones You show Us. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." I typically only post the preps I do for TFF members. I find trying to photo document and post about too much makes the prepping a lot less fun for me. Plus, most people only want to pay for prep on special specimens. Those tend to have a better chance of turning out well from the start. I was going for Carboniferous plant material and thought I’d try looking for bugs too. I didn’t find any. I can’t afford the $200 fee posted on his site to hunt on his land, but those bugs have got to be found other places than his land. I am hoping I will have time to go in the Spring.
