Raggedy Man

I do not see anything here that looks like a fossil. Maybe others who hunt that area will chime in.

I'm actually thinking there are actual fossil fragments in there.

I've outlined 2 of the crescent shapes that I'm thinking might be cross sections of some clams/bivalves and the small circle looks to contain some type of micro sized round shaped critter, maybe a gastropod/foram or some other invertebrate. Have you looked at this with a magnifying glass yet??...I think all of those small holes might be other traces of long gone casts/molds of things just too small to be seen without magnification.

Thanks for showing us. Let us know about what you see under magnification if you have a way of looking closer. I'm also interested in what the local folks think as well.

Regards, Chris

Brittle Star

Hi

Looks like flint, features may be sponge related.
