Hi,

I've found today this tiny but interesting piece in a Campanian-Maastrichtian coral-rudist lithosome in SE Pyrenees.

I've found there branched corals and bryozoans, but this one don't seem to me neither coral nor bryozoan.

Could it be a sponge ?

Looks like a bryozoan to me. Hopefully some more members chime in and we can get this identified for you. Thanks for posting and have a great day!

I agree, it could well be a coral. They very often look like each other.

Aren't these too small to be coralites though ?
