Coral Fossils

Hello. Good evening to everyone from my favorite Forum!

Unfortunately I do not have the slightest intimacy with coral fossils, so I do not know if they are fake or whether they are true, whether they are common or whether they are rare. Precisely because of my complete ignorance of the matter, I have resolved, please, to ask for your help.

So I basically have 2 questions:

01 - Are they real?
02 - The seller describes as fossil corals of the species PLASCOMILLIA VIDALI, from the Late Cretaceous (SANTONIENSE), discovered in Lerida, Spain, aged 83 to 87 million years. Is this information correct?

Are these 3 corals:

They sure look real to me!

The demand for fossil coral is not very big (compared to the demand for megs, trilobites and dinosaurs), so I don't think there are many fake corals around there.

I don't know much about corals either, so I can't say whether that info is correct, but if you google "Placosmilia vidali" all the pictures look really similar to your fossil. So I suppose the info is correct. About your "common or rare" question, judging by the number of pictures on Google, I think they're rather common.

So I don't think there is anything to worry about; fossils and info are authentic :)

If you feel like the price is pretty cheap and you like them, then I would say go ahead and buy them!

Hello my friend from so far away! :)

Yup, they're real, I have one myself from Spain which is just over the Med from here.

And i agree with the id as well.

The second specimen has a  nice serpulid worm epibiont as a bonus.

Hope you are keeping well,

Hugs,

Adam.
