Max-fossils Posted October 22, 2018 Share Posted October 22, 2018 Hi all, I found this fossil vertebra near the Zandmotor (Netherlands) last weekend. It's from the last Ice Age, late Pleistocene (around 40'000 years old). There is the possibility that it is middle Pleistocene (around 600'000 years old), but that possibility is very slim. So it's (most likely) a fossil vertebra from one of the typical megafaunal Ice Age critters that roamed Europe alongside the mammoths, woolly rhino's, etc. For now, I am thinking it could be from some deer species, but I am really not sure.
