Coprolite? "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet?!"

I am not sure of this, because otoliths show signs of growth, but they are circular, starting from the center to the outside, like the growth streaks of a tree (visible in a section). These ones aren't circular, I don't know if I'm very clear in my explanations...

Coco, I don't know if what she has is otolith or not, but it does remind me a little of otoliths from freshwater drum(or possibly gar). Here are a couple.IMG_4522.thumb.JPG.2b68518d027ad571df733e52fe6eb607.JPGIMG_4523.thumb.JPG.8fdc2eefc43c07febed3301195582cd1.JPG

There's probably quite a variety.

@InfoHungryMom

If You put to many rocks in one thread it gets confusing as to wich rock is being commented on.

If there are several that You think are the same and want to put into one thread, please number them. Otherwise it is best to start a new thread for each object.

Tony

I would love to- thank you!   How do I “get to your signature”?

Coco was referring to the text at the bottom of her posts. The last line offers info about recent fish otoliths.

The "signature" is the text at the bottom of a members post.

Not all members have created a signature or have links in them.

You can reach Coco's link by left clicking on the "here" in the text at the bottom of Her post.

I have three links in My signature (see below).

Interestingly, I don't see the signatures on my phone, regardless of which theme I use.:headscratch:

I do not use a phone, but I have seen some threads that indicate phones do not show all features for space requirements.

Maybe @Fossildude19 or @Kane can be more specific.

These signatures don't show on my laptop either, regardless of theme.

Your 2009 post is quite interesting, @Coco. So much variety in these.

Unfortunately, ... Phones and Apple products can be problematic with the Forum software. :(

I use Windows 7 and 10 on different computers.

I use the Main Theme (default).

I have no issues seeing the signatures.  :headscratch:

You may check your settings, to see if you have accidentally "ignored" all signatures.

It is easy to accidentally ignore all signatures.  :(

I see the signatures on my iPad, which is just a much larger iPhone in many respects. I think Tim's suggestion to check your forum settings may clear the issue up.

I think that after the upgrade, the default was changed to off. I have turned it on and working fine now. Thanks @Fossildude19

Hi Max!  I am CERTAIN that many ARE fossils.  I will attach some previously taken pictures now...  I have become interested in just about everything I find, including the environment.  I guess that's the result of being, "The Queen of A.D.D."

Nice collection! I'm not seeing any that really look like fossils though... Which ones did you have in mind?

In your second photo there looks to be a flat side (on bottom). Could we have a photo of that? Wet it a bit if it helps to see details.

When zoomed in, there's a lot of what looks like little rolls of material mashed together... interesting!

These are good photos but unfortunately nothing new is revealed here. This is a piece of flint/chert (as @ynot said) and I don't see any fossil.
