Greensmill run nc ID-mastadon or whale maybe?

Would appreciate some help on this one. Found at the GMR creek in Greenville nc, has peedee , yorktown and some Pleistocene stuff too, found among mako and great white teeth along with some Cretaceous shark teeth. The texture inside is interesting almost like the mastadon slivers I’ve found at gmr but not quite... maybe part of whale tooth root? Any direction is greatly appreciated, even if it is just a plain oh piece of bone, haha!

Actually taking this last photo I’m more convince it’s some kind of mammal tooth root hole from the curvature where my thumb is.

You guys are getting me super excited over here as either would be a first for me as well as both rather uncommon for GMR from my experience. I'll be googling both options trying to figure it out until I or someone on here can say 100%  - oh the suspense!!

I'm thinking elephantoid also. I have a partial walrus tusk from GMR and have seen a complete one from there. This does not compare favorably to me.

This is very likely to be something like a single loph of Mammut or Cuvieronius or something similar.

AWESOME! Thanks guys! :) Super stoked about this! I love when I find something new in GMR I haven't come across yet! I mean, I never get tired of the beautiful shark teeth pulled from the creek, but it's always exciting to expand my collection and learn more about what's out there!!
