RobJ Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 I found an interesting fossil on the beach in Venice, FL. Believe it is either a Turtle scute or an alligator osteoderm. Harry Pristis Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 It's a water turtle marginal bone (from the carapace). Turtle scutes are thin, keratin coverings of the turtle bone.
