I found this fossil while digging an utility ditch in Denison TX. It was approximately 3' deep setting on very hard rock hard pan. It looks for the world like a human canine tooth except it is 9" long and seems to be made of very hard rock. Can anyone help ID it? Thanks

Yeah, my poor old eyeses can just about make out what looks like a dark grey pebble with white bits in.

Welcome to TFF!

There is a 3.95 megabyte limit per post, You can add more pictures in replies to a thread.

If You can post pictures that are around 1 megabyte each,  it will help us to see what You have.

As it is the pictures are to small for a good view.

You may need to retake the pictures as enlarging them now will not show any detail.

If you download picture collage app you can put many images on. Also for some reason it takes up a fraction of the 3.5 mb limit even if you put them on individually via the app. (It sends the image to your library)

The object is not to see how many pictures You can cram into a single post - but to provide pictures that can be viewed in detail.

By using this app. You reduce the view size of each picture.

It is much better to post pictures that are 1 megabyte or larger and use the "reply" to add additional pictures.

thanks to all! I'm learning.

Thanks for the better pictures.

This is a non fossil rock, most likely metamorphic and  high in iron.

Is your specimen a Planorbarius sp., maybe P. corneus?
