Need help identifying gift (mammal?)

I recently was given a fossil as a gift. As I understand it, the seller does not know where it was found or has any idea what it is. There is some writing on the side which I’ll attach a picture of. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello :)  Can you say what you think the writing says, I’m struggling to read it properly.

It is about as clear in the picture as in real life but it seems to say “elgo depta  case something” if that’s any help.

Going to need to wait for a bone person to chime in. I wonder if it’s a mammalian foot bone @Harry Pristis

Looks like an artiodactyl calcaneum, perhaps bovid -- likely bison based on size.  I don't have a clue to the markings (except there is no "E" or "S" symbol in the Cyrilic (Russian) alphabet).

From what country is the seller?

He spoke pretty good English with not much of an accent so I’ll go with English.
