thatFossilGuy36
I recently was given a fossil as a gift. As I understand it, the seller does not know where it was found or has any idea what it is. There is some writing on the side which I’ll attach a picture of. Any help is greatly appreciated. JohnBrewer
Hello Can you say what you think the writing says, I’m struggling to read it properly. John Map of UK fossil sites

It is about as clear in the picture as in real life but it seems to say “elgo depta case something” if that’s any help.
JohnBrewer
Hmmm other than an anagram giving ‘lego adept’ I don’t know ‘case’ presumably was the location it was kept in a collection. Going to need to wait for a bone person to chime in. I wonder if it’s a mammalian foot bone @Harry Pristis 1 John Map of UK fossil sites

I don't have a clue to the markings (except there is no "E" or "S" symbol in the Cyrilic (Russian) alphabet). 4 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
abyssunder
From what country is the seller?
