How about some smashed turtle eggs!!

post-16416-0-55313200-1469624907_thumb.jpg

I know that they are turtle eggs because I also found this newly hatched turtle in the lava flow!

So here is another "egg", but I am unsure if it is a bird or dinosaur...

post-16416-0-43583600-1469673563_thumb.jpg

I know it is an egg because of the embryo inside...

post-16416-0-19872600-1469673592_thumb.jpg

I think it is a road runner because it was found in New Mexico.

Thunder egg found at the rock hound state park in Deming.

Banded carnelian.

I found this one as a child and do not remember exactly where it is from- I was in New Mexico at the time.

I always found that carnelian stones looked like sweets. Yours looks like caramel. I am not surprised that it catched the post-21013-0-45596100-1469742284.jpg of the kid you were. :)

Here's a lignified boomerang. It probably was lost by a couple of young dinosaurs while they were played on the beach during the Cretaceous. The boomerang was swept out to sea and deposited in the Austin Chalk now in Plano Texas. While photographing it, the heat of the sun was causing the wood to sound like Rice Krispies: snap, crackle and pop. Because the wood was rapidly drying out and falling apart I put it in my freezer until I could figure out how to preserve it. Futility set in and I threw it out. Sometimes a photo is the best way to preserve a fossil.
