alienrockfarm
Hello, I joined this group today so that I might have a recent find identified. My name is Larry Atkins and I'm a meteorite hunter from Michigan and I spend a lot of time in Arizona looking for space rocks. I find a lot of different things out there and yesterday I found an interesting cluster of fossil bone and teeth. Last spring, in the same wash, I found a partial skeleton of a huge tortoise. The Arizona Museum of Natural History was supposed to dig it up but they never got around to it and the monsoons have apparently washed it away! So disappointing. Here's an in-situ of yesterday's find. This is in Pinal county AZ. Thanks! Larry
ynot
Welcome to TFF! Sorry, but I see nothing identifiable beyond some bone. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Tidgy's Dad
Yes, bone fragments but I see nothing diagnostic. Hello, and a very warm welcome to TFF from Morocco. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Scylla
Look more carefully, I see teeth near the top, but I can't tell what kind. Mammalian I think
DPS Ammonite
Welcome from Scottsdale, Arizona. Are you a member of the museum sponsored Southwest Paleontology Society? If you are here for a while check out the Arizona fossil themed Flagg Gem and Mineral show in Mesa, Jan 4-6. http://flaggmineralfoundation.org/event/2019-flagg-gem-and-mineral-show/ My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. abyssunder
I think, in an unearthed condition there may be more diagnostic features. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
