Max-fossils
Merry Xmas everyone!!! To celebrate this long-awaited holiday, how about we showcase some fossils linked to it? It can be anything: a fossil that you got for Xmas, found on Xmas day, or a fossil that reminds you of something "Xmassy". Explain why! I'll start off: Orthosphinctes desmoides (?) Gräfenberg, Germany Grafenburg Formation, Kimmeridgian, Jurassic I got this gorgeous double-ammonite piece from my parents for Xmas yesterday! Also, although you can't see it very well on the picture, the ammonites have a nice dark green color thanks to the glauconite that they are made of (similar color to a Xmas tree)! 7 Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil. Max-fossils
And another piece: Rangifer tarandus Zandmotor, Netherlands Late Pleistocene I found this cool reindeer vertebra on the Zandmotor not long ago. Who knows, maybe it was Rudolf's ancestor? Now, which Xmas-themed fossils do you have to share? Maybe a snowflake-shaped crinoid? Or a flashy red (like Santa) shark tooth? I can't wait to see them! LiamL
Nice fossils Max! Unfortunately my mum flat out refuses to gift me any more fossils because i've got so many. I have to buy them myself and sneak the mail in or find them now. But i've asked for fossil collecting gear instead, so i've got new wellies, i went through about 3 pairs last year alone. 4 Yorkshire Coast Fossil Hunter

My mom was not as strict, but it was more or less the same. She said: you can have maximum 1 fossil for Xmas this year! Luckily she did also get me some useful stuff for fossils: good-quality padded envelopes (good for sending fossils around the globe) and really good plastic boxes that are perfect to sort my fossils in. But in your case, I think the real reason is because your mom is jealous... Because I am too, seeing all that awesome ichthy stuff you've been finding!!! 1 Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil. Oh someone your age doesn't have room to display that. You'd best send it over here to put in my case. I'll send you pictures of it from time to time, so you'll know it's doing OK. *Don't think about what it cost, but realize the love that was involved in obtaining it for you.

SailingAlongToo
@Daleksec knows how to make Mrs.SA2 happy and ensure he keeps getting invited on fossil hunting trips. He 3D printed & painted these Ecphora earrings and necklace for her for Christmas. They are quite nice and she loves them! 2 Don't know much about history Don't know much biology Don't know much about science books......... SailingAlongToo
Our buddy Zsolt made a unique Christmas tree from some of his VA & MD Miocene teeth. Of course, he too has included an Ecphora. 5 Don't know much about history Don't know much biology Don't know much about science books......... SailingAlongToo
Here is the awesome wine bottle holder that @bmitchell887 and his lovely fiance Dr. Wilson, gave us for Christmas. This thing is righteous! Mrs.SA2 was fast on this one claiming the bottle of wine AND the shark mouth holder as "her's." When your friends are also fossil hunters, you get some awesome gifts!! 3 Don't know much about history Don't know much biology Don't know much about science books.........
