Went to Disneyland with the family and was able to visit the La Brea Tar pits and the Los Angeles Museum of natural history. Here is a few pictures. Merry Christmas!

Always a great day if it's one to visit an NHM-associated museum, or two of them.

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

Two great museums that we've not visited in over 25 years. Thanks for bringing these back into our "must see" list for next time we pass through that area. I seem to remember that wall of Dire Wolf skulls which is a great way of showing how common they are in the fossil record at La Brea. We get excited by a single broken tooth from that species here in South Florida.

You couldn't drag me kicking and screaming into Disneyland (but it would be quite a sight if you tried). As a service to other readers, I will now implant an earworm for you all for the rest of the day:

It's a small world after all,

It's a small world after all,

It's a small world after all,

It's a small, small world.

(You're welcome.) :P

Cheers.
