Hipparion Jaw Fossil ... Is it real?

Hello! Good evening for all my big family here in TFF ! :D

I'm thinking of buying this fossil jaw from Hipparion. But please, I would like to ask some questions before my purchase:

01) Can this jaw fragment even be a real fossil or is it a modern horse jaw with mud and cement?

02) Is it an upper or lower jaw?

03) Anyone know what species of Hypariodon exactly belongs this jaw?

04) According to the seller (Yes, the seller is Chinese), this jaw was discovered in China ... Anyone know in which locality may have been discovered?

Well, at least in my opinion, it's a good chunk of the upper jaw:

I thank you all for your help!

This looks very suspicious to me.

Looks like plaster with maybe some fossil teeth put in, then matrix mixed with the plaster.  :(

I would pass on this one, myself.

I can't see any sign of bone structure in the 'jaw' at all.

The teeth I'm not certain about.

I guess it is from Hezheng of Gansu Province.  A large quantity of mammal fossils are from Hezheng.  I am not sure about the species but as to its authenticity, I am not sure if someone would fake it as these kinds of fossils are very common in Hezheng, and that it is not a complete skull.

I attach some photos of other mammal species found there for comparison.  Hope it helps.

I found a paper (unfortunately it is in Chinese but you may be able to use google translate to read it) on Hipparion:

There are many species, and I am afraid it is not easy to tell which species does the jaw belong to.

Based on the photos of the jaws, could it be lower jaw?

Due to some bug, I could not read your first message, only now I could read everything, and I thank you, super informative! According to your post and your help, since you live in China, so I decided to carry on the negotiation with the seller, and when this Jaw arrives here, I'll do a cleaning on the fossil that is covered with matrix and I will post the photos here.

Thank you my dear friend @Crazyhen! :D :dinothumb:

You're welcome, my friend.  I have tried to download the paper in pdf for you but the server is not responding, anyway, it's good that you can still read it online and get it translated.

By the way, Hipparion also occurs in Shanxi Province and a few other places in China, so your specimen does not necessarily be of Hezheng origin.  You may wish to ask the seller where does it come from (though such information may not be true) or at least where he is.
