This was recently found in Southeastern Missouri, I don't know much about Pleistocene material, so all comments are welcome, including age, gender, whatever.

Unfortunatly, it is not mine. It was found by a young boy while fishing with his father. If you are in the neighborhood next weekend, we'll be digging cretaceous material, and all are welcome.

Let me see what the wifes plans are. We might be visiting family that day.

We will be staying in Clearwater, if thats close to where you are.

I assume when you say Clearwater that you mean Piedmont? Clearwater is the school district. It is about 60 miles west of here, maybe a little less, rugged drive though.

I suggest sending the photo to Mastodon State Park in Jefferson County. They can tell ya what you want to know.

Mike - unfortunately, I haven't found the staff at Mastodon St. Park to be very knowledgable behond the talking points they have about the site there. I brought in some bones to try and ID and they ended up having me go in the back to help ID their fossils!

No, but it looks like I need to give up fossil hunting and start fishing if I want to find some Pleistocene material......
