Nimravis
Within the last 7 days I collected fossils from following time periods- Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian and Mississippian. I figured that I would go out today for a little road side Pennsylvanian collecting on IL 71. I did not find much, but it was fun and cold, about 30 degrees and a light flurries. Pics of the road cut- My finds- The most abundant fossil at this site is the brachiopod Composita argentia. Here are a couple of what I believe are Juresania nebrascensis. Here is a small crinoid hash plate. All cleaned up-

KimTexan
Those brachiopods look a lot like our Cretaceous Grayson Waconella wacoensis. Thankfully we get limited ice and snow. I’ve been hunting a couple times in the 30s and 40s recently, but it wasn’t freezing. I was wading through water though. Glad you got to get out Ralph. I would love to have, but my kids aren’t into fossil hunting like I am.

Jeffrey P
I think your Juresania is actually Linoproductus. Congratulations. Marine Pennsylvanian is definitely cool in my book wherever you can find it.
smt126
I've thought about going out collecting in the cold and avoiding all the bugs, but the family isn't down with collecting in the cold with me.
Ludwigia
The temps here are hovering just above 0° Celcius and there's just a sprinkling of powdery snow on the grond which is melting away, so I'm gonna take a chance and head off to one of my sites in the Wutach, although it lies a couple of hundred meters higher than here, so please wish me luck. If worse comes to worst, I'll have a chance to do some downhill skiing. Nice finds, by the way. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. I agree with the family- when it is cold and wet, it is hard to pick small things up with gloves, so I have to take them off and the fingers get real cold. Plus, there was not much to collect yesterday.
