Fossilized bone or not?

Hi all,

 

Looking for some help to identify if this is a fossil or not. It was found in Freshwater East beach in Wales, UK (SA71) over the New Year. It's quite heavy (103g) and stood out as It didn't match any other of the red limestone or grey pebbles around it. Dimensions are 7.5cm long and 4.5cm wide. It is slighted flattened on its side so would measure 4cm.

 

Thought it was a fossiled bone as the ends appear rounded and porous whilst the sides are smooth. Appreciate it might be fossiled wood or mineral too. Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

Hello, S! I'm half Welsh myself, welcome to TFF. 

Just a pebble i'm afraid, washed in from somewhere else or it's a nodule eroded from the cliffs.

I can't see any characteristic bone structure here.

Thanks Tidgy's Dad. Appreciate your help. Totally new to this. Budding paleontologist 7 y.o. daughter found it and was hopeful it might be something. Luckily we did find some crinoids and trilobites too so hopefully she won't be too gutted. Cheers S

Glad you found some trilos, always makes a hunting trip worthwhile.
