I just got this orthoceras fossil from the atlas mountains if Morocco. I was wondering if they was a formation associated with it? I've got the age, but not the formation, if any. Thanks, Tyler

I know they come from Erfoud, Morocco which is in the Sahara Desert, not the Atlas Mountains.

I think that is where they are transported to be polished, not sourced.

They come from a region over 50 miles across in the Draa Valley - Tifilalet region of Southern Morocco.

Erfoud is in this region, but as Kane said, I don't believe the fossils are found there, Erfoud is the number one prepping and distribution centre, many fossils on the net claim to be from Erfoud, but were just prepped, distributed from or sold there.
