Found this fragment from Whitby area, at first I thought it was a flattened belamnite but wonder if it's in fact a tooth. Any ideas?20190114_204155.thumb.jpg.40bbc835669d78cae137ec6a8b311f5d.jpg

Trying to upload more but the size limit prevents me!

I find I have to reload page between photo comments. Snafu of some kind but it can be overcome with reload.

Also try cropping images to reduce mps

@Rory. These are pretty good photos. Could you do the ends too?

Looking for indications of baculite, what do you see?

It's the crushed alveolar end of a belemnite rostrum. (From this area, it'll be Lower Jurassic, Toarcian or possibly Pliensbachian so no heteromorph ammonites like Baculites here! :)
