edteach
I was looking in a creek bed for arrow heads and this popped up. I thought it was strange. The core is stone also.
Tidgy's Dad
Looks like a solitary rugose 'horn' coral to me. Or rather the mold of one. Where was it found? Pretty. 2 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

edteach
Rogers Arkansas in a creek bed. We had some rains and the water was up but was down today. I went hiking down a creek bed. The bed is about 4 feet lower then ground level. The two holes are different in the same rock. goatinformationist
Do I spy graptolites in the first picture or is it the angle of the camera?

They have rippled edges similar to scallops. Could be Pectinidae, Ostreidae, or something else, but definitely look like bivalve shells. I refuse to give up my childish wonder at the world. edteach
Thanks. Glad I picked it up. I almost dropped it because I was over half a mile back on a creek and a 4 pound rock was not fun in my coat pocket.
