Anomalocaris Appendage?

Hi! I stumbled upon this listing and I want to be sure that this is what the seller is describing it as. It’s being listed as an Aegirocassis benmoulae appendage from Morocco. I don’t know much about Anomalocarids outside of China and North America. Please let me know what you guys think!

Although scientific studies have been published in 2010, but that even so for many collectors it is still novelty and it may seem crazy the Anomalocarids being discovered in Morocco, but yes it's real!

 

 

 

 

The specimens of Morocco could reach more than 1 meter in length!

 

And it's a fantastic discovery, why these Moroccan Anomalocarids are not Cambrian! In Morocco these outcrops are from the Ordovician, and now it is known that the Anomalocarids lived 30 million years longer than previously thought.

 

Probably this appendage you posted here is from the Lower Ordovician of Fezouata formation, Morocco that is where Anomalocarids are being discovered.

 

 

And for not to extend much (although deserves because it is a fascinating subject), but to finish, the morphology of the appendage of Anomalocarid that you posted here:

 

 

Morphologically it is quite compatible with other appendages of Anomalocarids that already were discovered in Fezouata formation:
