Ptychodus04
Here's another mammoth tusk stand that I made for a client. This is a very popular design as it is very simple and securely holds the tusk. This client wanted the mount to hold the tusk close to the center of their display area so the arms are longer than typical. 3 1 Regards, Kris Global Paleo Services, LLC https://globalpaleoservices.com http://instagram.com/globalpaleoservices http://instagram.com/kris.howe

And elegant stand for the tusk! 2 "The baneful Dragons, O Seas, are gone: Fiends, 0 Earth, have filled thee with the bones of Defeat and Death." I used #9 wire, with smaller wire attached at the top, and scraps of cut stone for the base. 22 hours ago, Ramo said: Using offcuts for the base is a great idea... That way you can get the correlation to the matrix and it is pleasing to the eye.. Thank you

Very nice like the simplicity it offers and provides all the focus on the fossil not the stand.

I had to carry that sucker (in a plaster jacket) up a steep butte to get it to the truck. After all the prep work I did on it, I wasn't about to let it lay on and hide its plastron! (Hence the elevated stand and mirror!)

Bobby Rico
Now for something completely different my Hell Creek collection Bell Jar. This is the first of two Bell Jars I am going to show on this thread. I found it very tricky to display small items safely and effectively. The Bell was an inspired idea that came from not wanting to house this little collection in specimen draws. After speaking with @snolly50 who second thoughts of not hiding this collection away, I came up with this. The Bell Jar is so indicative of the curiosity cabinet or Wunderkammer, a look and feel that I really enjoy and want my collection to have. Ingredients to makes this are as follows . 1. You will need a Bell Jar this one was salvaged from a dumpster. 2. A laser acrylic stand ( I made this one) 3. A Hell Creek collection. Hope you like it. Cheers everyone It looks like dinosaur high tea, yum 2

I have some old glass bells like that and can think of some similar display ideas. I've been using them to keep carnivorous plants humid when I remove the plants from their environmental chamber for demonstrations.

I then lined them with a natural flet material . Nice thing about it, is it is completely dust free. He just a peek of my other Bell it is not finished yet but close.
